"We will break the losing streak against FC Seoul!" 'Sharp Ball' Suwon FC challenges for the first win in the opening match at home on the 8th! Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun, passionate cheering with supporters at the 'new' 1,000-seat variable seating

[Sports Chosun Reporter Jeon Yeong-ji] 'Sharp Ball' Suwon FC is challenging for its first win in four games in the home opener.

Suwon FC, led by 'Sharp' coach Kim Eun-joong, will face off against their rival FC Seoul in the 4th round of 'Hana Bank K League 1 2025' at Suwon Stadium at 2 PM on the 8th.  FC Seoul, led by coach Kim Ki-dong, is in 9th place with 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss (4 points) in the 3 games since the opening.  Suwon FC is at an absolute disadvantage against Seoul, having lost 5 of their last 5 games.  Since Seoul is the only team that has not earned points since coach Kim Eun-joong took office last year, their will to get revenge at home is stronger than ever.

Last year, which was Manager Kim's first season as a professional manager, Suwon ranked 5th with the highest number of points ever, but they are struggling early this season.  'Ace' Andersson, who was eyed by top K-League clubs, stayed on according to the contract, but with foreign players joining the winter training camp late, finding the best combination and the best form is a homework.  With 1 draw and 2 losses in 3 games against Gwangju, Daegu, and Daejeon since the opening, Suwon is 'the only' along with Pohang not to taste a win, so they desperately need 3 points in the home opener.

Coach Kim is asking his players to play with more confidence. He is especially looking forward to them not being intimidated by Seoul, the only team that Sharpball has failed to conquer, and giving their all in front of their home fans.

As they have waited for a long time, fans’ expectations are also rising.  This is the first home game to be played at Castle Park, the ‘home’, after three consecutive away games.  Suwon City has been constructing the variable seating area to increase the number of seats to 1,000 for the new season to provide convenience for home fans and supporters, and the home opener has been postponed due to the construction schedule.  On this day, Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-joon will have a heated cheering match with Suwon supporters for the first win in the expanded variable seating area.

Suwon FC also prepared various events inside and outside the stadium to meet the fans’ expectations.  There will be a raffle event with prizes including Apple iPads, LG StandbyMe, Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaners, and Philips air purifiers, a Space A congratulatory performance, a castle stage, a fan signing event for the players, a picnic zone and food trucks, a custom photo card kiosk, a Suwon FC photoism booth, a Suwon FC photo zone, and a SNS certification shot event with BAMKEL.  Reporter Jeon Yeong-ji sky4us@sportschosun.com.
